Shelves
I love my shelves. Love, love, love them. They are ginormous, just in case you can't tell from the picture.
At the same flea market where we found our TV cabinet - Did I show you that? No? Ok... here it is
Anyway, at the same Flea Market that I found this at, I found 4 old (1930s) porch brackets for $8 a piece. Having priced shelf brackets for a few months, I knew that was a good price, so I grabbed them. I intended to buy wood to use as the shelf part, but it didn't just seem like it would look right, so I headed back to the flea market.
I mention to the guy behind the cash register - who I later found out was the owner - what I was looking for, and long story short, I walked out with five 8ft long pieces of old, old, old, chippy paint bead board paneling. For free. Score!
The brackets are termite damaged, so we decided to not use them as actual brackets and just for looks. We ended up screwing the bead board to the brackets, and then "hung" the shelves with L brackets. We made sure that the L brackets were either screwed in to a stud or we used an anchor.
I still have to paint the table/desk, but what do you think so far?
